Generation Adidas Cup Wrap Up

The 2024 Generation Adidas Cup has officially concluded, and here is our tournament wrap up.

Team Of The Tournament

Here is our team of the tournament. This is an eleven of the players who impressed the most throughout the entire tournament.

Diego Rocio - Philadelphia Union: Diego Rocio was named as the MVP in U17 division of the Generation adidas Cup. Rocio bagged goals in the quarterfinal, semifinal, and final. Rocio proved to be a crucial player on the field for the Philadelphia Union amongst a team of stars.

Marc Martinez - Valencia: The first U15 player in our squad was one of the top goal scorers in the entire tournament. Martinez was magical whenever he was on the ball, and he just seems like one of those players people are afraid of whenever he picks it up. Martinez was most definitely up there in the U15 MVP race.

Jamir Johnson - Philadelphia Union: Jamir Johnson took over in a few games during the Ga Cup, and without him it is unclear if the Union would have been able to win without him. He was the difference maker against the Vancouver Whitecaps and Jeonbuk.

Lanlo Victor - Toulouse: Lanlo was by far and away the top keeper at the Generation Adidas Cup. Lanlo came up massive for Toulouse in the semifinal and final matches, and if it were not for him then Toulouse most likely would not have made it to the final.

Ekene Russell - Brondby IF: Ekene scored in every single game we watched him play. A physical force off and on the ball the striker is able to push defenders aside like it is nothing. Clearly a player who has a bright future in football, and he showed that at the Ga Cup.

Kervon Kerr - Toronto FC: One of the most deadly goal scores of the tournament was Kervon Kerr from Toronto. He bagged against both Arsenal and Toulouse in the knockout matches we watched. A strong center forward who has a great eye for goal.

Stefan Chirila - Fc Cincinnati: One of the most prolific goal scorers in the entire country Chirilia stepped up on the big stage, and bagged five goals during the tournament. While his team did not make it super far, he still shined as one of the top players in the competition.

Paul Sokoloff - New York Red Bulls: Sokoloff’s inclusion on here is for his performances in the first four matches. His side did end up leaving the tournament due to racist wording said to their teammates. In the game she played, Sokoloff was always a bright spot picking up many goals and assists.

Gabriel Arnold - LA Galaxy: The second LA Galaxy player to make the squad is a central midfielder. Arnold really impressed n the game she saw, and he even captioned the LA Galaxy squad. He scored an Olímpico and provided a high class assist in the semifinal.

Kaedren Spivey - San Jose Earthquakes: Kaedren Spivey is a name everyone needs to have on their radar. The 2009 is absolutely tearing up the U15 age group of MLS Next and he did so at the Ga Cup. One of the top players in the country while at his best.

Neil Pierre - Philadelphia Union: Pierre should have not been at this tournament because he is simply too good for the U17 level. He has already been with the USYNT U20s, and I cannot remember a single time over the seven games someone got by him. Without Pierre Philadelphia would not have been able to win this tournament.
