MLS Announces Generation Adidas Cup Teams

Last week, MLS announced the full field for the Generation Adidas Cup. A total of 20 different international teams will face off against 29 MLS Academies. Teams will flock from across the globe from Argentina to Europe to Japan. Some of these teams include Manchester United, PSV, and Arsenal. All three of these academies are often dubbed some of the best in the world

U15 International Teams

These 10 teams (plus one more which is TBD) will join the MLS Academies in Florida. These teams range from Latin America to Europe, and many are heavy favorites to contend for the Generation adidas Cup crown.

• Brøndby IF - Denmark

• KRC Genk - Belgium

• Manchester United FC - England

• CF Monterrey - Mexico

• Club Necaxa - Mexico

• FC Nordsjælland - Denmark

• Sporting Clube de Portugal - Portugal

• Toulouse FC - France

• Valencia CF - Spain

The U15 age group will have one mope international team from then the U17 age group. Unfortunately, there are no known American dual nationals on these sides. Here are a few matchups we are looking forward to in the group stage

• Manchester United VS LAFC - 3/31 9:30 AM Field 12

• New England Revolution VS Arsenal - 3/30 9:30 AM Field 12

• KRC Genk VS FC Dallas - 4/1 10:00 AM Field 1

• Valencia CF VS Austin FC - 4/1 12:00 PM Field 1

• Portland Timbers VS Sporting CP - 3/31 12:00 PM field 1

Some squads we have coined to have a good chance to make a run in the tournament are KRC Genk, Valencia, and Manchester United. KRC Gems U15s were in this very same tournament last year. They showed well when they made it all the way to the semifinals before losing to eventual champions Austin FC. They brought multiple players who were apart of the Belgium youth national team pool last time, and it will be interesting to see who is with the squad this year. Valencia is another side who has made it deep into the tournament
