The USYNT Under 16 squad has come together this past weekend to commence upon another camp heading preparing for next year’s CONCACAF Championships and the U17 World Cup. A slue of new names has been called into the national team camp who will look to compete of a spot on the team. Some of these new names including Matias Albert, Ian James, and Vitaliy Hlyut. These players have all impressed for their sides in MLS Next Pro wether that be in the season, or in preseason. Albert was the only 2009 player whom was heavily involved in the LA Galaxy II setup. Albert even reportedly scored for the side in preseason. He also has been apart of the USYNT 2009 squad multiple times, and he has now presumably been promoted to thew 2008 age group. Ian James is a central defender who recently got his first start for Sporting KC II a few weeks ago. James is a relatively new name of the scene, but he is definitely one all should know. This is the same with 2008 baller Vitaliy Hlyut. Hlyut is most known for his stellar Open Cup play where he even scored his first goal for the Chicago Fire’s 2nd team. Hlyut is an electric winger who could definitely impact this group.

PSV’s Austyn Jones is another player that has been reportedly called up to the USYNT U16 camp. Jones is a striker who recently bagged a brace at the Generation adidas Cup against NYCFC. This was streamed on Apple TV, and it was reported that Jones met with numerous people affiliated with US soccer after the match.

The USYNT also have a camp going down as many 2009s players have been given a shot to show out at this most recent camp in order to get a shot at making the squad ahead of the Vlatko Marković tournament in Croatia. Numerous players have been called up who have not been with the squad before, and on the other hand, there are many players who have made their debuts in competition for the squad. Notable newcomers include, Prince Forfor, Ivory Covington, and Zidane Cadet. Prince Forfor notably joined the Columbus Crew from Minnesota United earlier this season. Forfor has been playing left wingback this season. Scouts are extremely high on this player, and he is supposedly a phenomenal prospect. Ivory Covington just had a phenomenal performance at the Generation adidas Cup. He was amazing in the game against Manchester United. Covington is one of the top winger/attacking mid players in the entire country. Zidane Cadet is another one of the players who had a stellar Ga Cup. Cadet bagged many goals as he helped lead Inter Miami to the Ga Cup quarterfinals.

A number of players are also coming back to camp ahead of the Vlatko Marković tournament in Croatia. Guys like Adri Mehmeti, Omar Hassan, and Kaedren Spivey. All of these players have been wit the USYNT before for games against Portugal, Scotland, and Italy. They are all back in camp, and will be some of the names that will more than likely headline next month’s roster.
